Identity & KYC

Government ID card extractor: KYC data without typing

Extract identity fields from government-issued ID cards across the US, UK, EU, Canada, and Australia (front and back, barcode included) for onboarding and verification flows.

National ID cards, one schema

Government-issued identification cards from the US, UK, EU, Canada, and Australia share a purpose but not a layout. This extractor normalizes them into one identity record, whatever the issuing country prints where.

Fields captured

  • Document number
  • Full name (surname and given names)
  • Date of birth
  • Address where present
  • Nationality
  • Document class / type
  • Issuing authority and issuing state or country
  • Date of issue and date of expiry
  • Barcode / MRZ data where the card carries it

Front, back, and barcode

Many ID cards encode the authoritative record in a back-side barcode or MRZ strip. The extractor reads both sides, parses the encoded data, and cross-checks it against the printed front. Mismatches are flagged for review rather than silently accepted.

Where it is used

  • Customer and supplier KYC/KYB onboarding
  • Credit and lending application processing
  • Age and identity verification in regulated sales

For travel documents, use the passport extractor; for driving credentials, the driver license extractor. Identity data is sensitive. See our trust page for security posture.
