Bank check extractor: post check payments to your ERP
Extract payer, payee, amounts, and MICR routing data from bank checks to automate payment application and deposit records, with no manual keying from check images.
Checks still arrive, but keying them is optional
Plenty of B2B payments still show up as paper checks or check images. The bank check extractor reads them and returns the payment record your cash-application process needs.
Fields captured
- Bank name and branch
- Check number
- Check date
- Payer (drawer) name and address
- Payee name
- Amount: both the numeric figure and the written (legal) amount
- Routing number and account number (MICR line)
- Memo line
- Signature presence
Written vs. numeric amount
The extractor reads both the courtesy amount (numbers) and the legal amount (words) and flags disagreement between them (the classic check-fraud and keying-error signal), so mismatched checks route to a human before they post.
Where it fits
- Cash application: match incoming checks to open invoices
- Deposit records: structured data for each deposited item
- Reconciliation: check data joins the bank statement extractor output for end-to-end payment visibility
